fieldsolutions is small batch botanical care, naturally derived, thoughtfully sourced and formulated to perform. I make it in Astoria, Queens.

I spent most of my working life in the art world, behind the scenes with galleries, artists and studios, where materials, detail and context matter. I also spent years studying plants and agriculture on my own, out of pure curiosity. fieldsolutions is where those two ways of looking meet.

It started with a plant. Plantain grows in lawns, sidewalk cracks and gardens, and once I learned to recognize it, I could not stop seeing it. That one discovery led to a tincture, then a spray, then a question I have kept asking ever since: what could I make from this?

The answer is always naturally derived. Every ingredient I use is naturally derived and thoughtfully sourced, chosen because it earns its place in the formula.

Every formula answers something I wanted for myself. A light facial water for after washing. A smooth polish with nothing gritty in it. A balm for gardening hands and cold days. Each one is built from naturally derived ingredients, nothing added just to fill a label.

The name is deliberate. A field is a place: a garden, a trail, a prairie, a patch of weeds beside a sidewalk in Queens. It is also a field of study, somewhere you look closely and learn. And a solution is what I want each product to be.

Everything is made in small batches, by me, in Astoria. That lets me pay attention, source thoughtfully, adjust a texture, change a formula, and say no to anything that is not good enough to sell. I am a Made in Queens vendor, and you can find fieldsolutions on the shelves at Astoria Nest, a neighborhood shop devoted to local makers.

I would rather make fewer things I believe in than build a big catalog for its own sake.
